Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void Beta Starts on 31st of March

Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void, the exciting new expansion to the highly acclaimed Starcraft series by Blizzard is finally entering its closed beta phase ... and hopefully will be released real soon! If you're a hardcore Starcraft fan, I'm pretty sure you're at the edge of your seat right now!

Well, let us take a look at some of the interesting features that the game will contain and how you can sign up to beta test this amazing game!

Overview

  • Archon mode
Allows you and your ally to control a single army, providing a unique co-op experience! It is also a great way to guide a newbie friend in the game (by holding his or her hand).
  • Economy system
Resources are vital in any RTS game and the player with most of the resources under his or her control will has a distinct advantage over his/her opponents. Thus, in this new expansion, the developers created an economy system that rewards players, who are willing to aggressively expand and defend their base count, by giving them a resource advantage. There will also be increased starting worker count (up to 12)
  • Increased accuracy of units with attack move commands
  • Multiplayer changes
TERRAN
  • New unit: Cyclone - ranged unit with the ability to lock on an enemy target and deal high damage over a long duration
  • Siege tanks can be moved while in siege mode
  • Battle cruisers can now teleport to anywhere on the map, even to places with the fog of war still on

ZERG
  • New unit: Ravager - ranged unit with high area damage ability, designed to destroy protoss's force fields
  • The lurker now has massive range and splash damage
  • Corrupters have a new ability, which causes channel damage that increases over time on buildings
  • Vipers can now place a "damage over time" (DoT) skill on an enemy unit that will damage any surrounding enemy units within the skill's range. Even when the afflicted enemy dies, the DoT will remain in that area at least until its duration of effect is over.
  • Swarm host's locusts can be upgraded to fly

PROTOSS
  • New unit: Adept- ranged unit that can create shades that are controllable independently  and invulnerable (perfect for spying). After some time, you can even teleport your Adept to the current location of its shade too.
  • New unit: The Disruptor - a mechcanical unit that can go into an invulnerable energy form and deals burst "area of effect (AoE) damage
  • Warp prison can pick up units from a distance
  • Immortals now have an activated shield ability instead of a passive one
  • Oracles have a new ability - They can lay traps that are motion triggered when enemy walk nearby. The trap will temporarily freezes the enemies in place (works like a stun), but giving them invulnerability for the entire duration
  • Tempest no longer deal massive damage on air units but instead has a new ability, disintegration, which deals high damage which spreads out over a long period of time
With these changes, the people at the Starcraft department in Blizzard hopes that the game will become much more fast-paced and that the gameplay will definitely be altered due to the new changes.

So, what you need to do to sign up? And no, you don't have to sell your home or even your annoying little sister or brother on the black market... It's very simple actually. Just click on this link right here to head over to the page to sign up!
